Regular health screening helps people live their lives to the full, by showing them what they need to do to stay healthy and reassuring them about potential disorders.

Common conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease and strokes can be prevented if people are aware in advance that they are at risk and act to reduce this risk in time. Furthermore, bowel, breast, ovary, testis and prostate cancer can be picked up at an early stage, when the prospects for successful treatment are much better.

At Dr Daniel's Medical Centre, you will be looked after by the same doctor, who will be able to follow your progress and give advice tailored to your circumstances and lifestyle. We deliver preventive medicine with the personal care and attention normally associated with traditional medicine.

Comprehensive Health Screening Services

1. Consultation with occupational and medical history.
2. Full examination with:

  • ECG (electrocardiogram)
  • Lung function test
  • Eye test
  • Hearing test (audiometry)
  • Urinalysis (including over 40 tests)
  • Full blood test with biochemistry, haematology, cholesterol, fasting glucose (for diabetes), liver and kidney function tests
  • Prostate test (PSA) for men over 50 years of age, with rectal examination**
  • Smear test for women using the new ‘Thin Prep’ method **
  • Mammogram for women over 40 years of age**
  • EBCT Heart scan or CT Multislice scan for coronary heart disease screening**
  • Bowel cancer screening**
  • Abdominal ultrasound scan (for people over 50 years of age)**
  • CA-125 and gynecological ultrasound scan (ovarian cancer screening)


3. Referral to further tests where required
